PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Public transport: A single-trip ticket costs 1.6 BGN (~0.80 EUR). It entitles you to carry up to 2 pieces of luggage: the sum of the three dimensions of each piece should not exceed 140 cm. For each piece of luggage that exceeds this limit one should punch an extra ticket. Tickets can be bought from kiosks at the bus stops or from bus drivers. Note that bus drivers don’t always have tickets at their disposal so, if possible, buy one in advance. Tickets need to be punched after boarding the bus, tram or trolley.
Alternatively, on trams and trolleys you can buy a ticket from the vending machines located behind the driver’s cabin. These tickets need not be punched.
Tickets for the Metro are sold at the vending machines and the kiosks located at stations’ entrances.
Taxi: Taxi fares are approximately 0.80 BGN (~0.40 EUR) / km during the day and about 1.00 BGN (~0.5 EUR) / km between 10 p.m and 6 a.m. MAKE SURE to check the fare before getting into the taxi.
